The Chymical Wedding of Christian Rosenkreutz is well known as the major piece of early Rosicrucian writing. It is in the form of an allegorical romance, with a well-paced plot that captures the interest of the reader, and through the medium of allegory, conveys the essential esoteric philosophy underlying Rosicrucianism. Although the text in a 17th century English translation has been available recently in various publications, it really needs a commentary to help unravel the elaborate threads of esoteric ideas that form its fabric.
