Jane Leade was a late 17th century English mystic of great importance, whose writings have been much neglected. She worked within the esoteric stream initiated by Jacob Boehme, although her writings draw upon her own independent mystical visions. In this early work she interprets the Book of Revelation, finding there sources of inner inspiration, a spiritual alchemy, rather than Apocalyptic hell fire and millenialist destruction. She was a mystic with great peace of soul and gentleness of vision.
