I have never written a book and My Lucky Stroke was never meant to be a book. I just wanted my grown son to know why I acted in certain ways after having a stroke, so I started telling my story on paper. I began to ask myself questions about my childhood, my life, old age, and dying. Somewhere along the way I realized that many older persons were thining about the same things, but not asking the questions out loud. I wanted to share my questions. I eventually became grateful for the stroke and for how it revealed the life I still possessed. - Suzanne Jasper
