GURDJIEFF, STRING THEORY, MUSIC. Mitzi DeWhitt.

GURDJIEFF, STRING THEORY, MUSIC.

2006. The third book in a musicological trilogy that seeks objective answers to physical and metaphysical questions by way of musical ratios and proportions. Though starting with the acoutical properties of vibrating strings, the author goes on to attack thorny isses facing quantum physics today. She find surprising answers from the reconciling perspective of music theory. There she introduces into the equation the sacred metaphysical soul principle; that is that the properties of the soul being movement and expansion, have long been associated with the ancient diatonic scale, tying together not one but three musical scales--diatonic, chromatic and enharmonic. From there she posits that a three-brain system is essential for the completion of the soul of man, just as the Gurdjieff work insists. Paperback in new condition. Item #10303
